Construction projects



The Construction Project of Bodhisattva Kwan Yin’s Palace, Dharma Practice Center and The Public Hazard Relief Center  

  

            Moonnithi Pracha Ruamchai, a public charitable organization has been established since 1982, has constantly supported victims of public hazard, education fund, religious activities and other public benefit as described in the objectives. Later, the Foundation expanded its activity by set up the Public Hazard Relief Unit. This unit has been helping accident victims at accident scenes, such as helping a road-accident injured, performing first aid before delivering to the hospital. If the injured was dead, the Foundation will deliver the corpse to a hospital or sending back to his or her hometown for religious ceremony. In case the dead has no relative, the Foundation will also provide a cremation service. All these services have been performed in Nakhon Si Thammarat area and nearby provinces since August 4, 1989.

            In carrying out the Public Hazard Relief activities, even the money have been donated continuously but it has not been sufficient as the operating expenses are very high.  The money was donated to the Foundation to buy 10 rai of land (16,000 square meters) situated at Chalermprakiat Road, Moo 2, Pak Nakhon Sub district, Muang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

          Therefore, the Foundation has initiated the construction project of Bodhisattva Kwan Yin’s Palace, Dharma Practice Center and The Public Hazard Relief Center. (The architect of the project: Mr. Sontaya Kongchai) The place is for Bodhisattva Kwan Yin to be enshrined, organizing various types of activities for benefit of the public and the youth, namely Dharma Practice Center, English and Chinese language teaching center for youths. The objectives of this construction are as follows:

1.   The palace for Bodhisattva Kwan Yin to be enshrined.

2.   Dharma Practice and Learning Center for the public and the youth.

3.   The permanent office of The Public Hazard Relief Center of Moonnithi Pracha Ruamchai.

4.   To enable the Foundation in expanding the work and other activities of The Public Hazard Relief Center in the area of Nakhon Si Thammarat and nearby provinces.

5.  To be a new landmark in Nahkon Si Thammarat Province.


 

The Goddess of Mercy – Bodhisattva Kwan Yin

       The Goddess of Mercy – Bodhisattva Kwan Yin is the Bodhisattva worshiped by worldwide Chinese. The Goddess is full of love and mercy for all living creatures, full of gratefulness and is the symbol of kindliness in saving all living creatures from sufferings in which the objectives of the Foundation are similar to.

      This is the reason why Phra Boonyarit Hongprasat built the Bodhisattva Kwan Yin Image – Blessing Posture. The Image was created by Chinese sculptor called Mr. Liu Da Wei at Peking, Republic of China by having Mr. Gu Shi Yuan as the advisor of the project.

 

  

     The Gold Pouring Ceremony was on July 22, 1996; 09.09 a.m. at Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. The Foundation was honored by Mr. Sathorn Wanichsathien, the Commercial Minister of Thailand to People’s Republic of China to preside over the ceremony. Chinese monks performed the ceremony. There were many believers and philanthropists attended the ceremony. The casting process was divided into 2 parts, the first part is the 3 layers of opened lotus-leaf base and the second part is the Bodhisattva Kwan Yin Image. The total height including the base is 200 centimeters, the lap width of the Bodhisattva Kwan Yin Image is 97 centimeters and the weight is approximately 1 ton. The image was made of bronze (brass – tin mixture).   


     

      The Sanctification Rite was on November 29, 2006; 10.00 a.m. at Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. The rite was conducted by 10 monks from Num Wah Gee temple, People’s Republic of China and honored by Mr. Chalit  Manityakul, the Thai Consul General to Shanghai, People’s Republic of China to preside over the sanctification rite. There were many Chinese attended.


The Palace of Bodhisattva Kwan Yin

     “The Palace of Bodhisattva Kwan Yin” will be constructed as the group of reinforced concrete buildings in contemporary Chinese style. The width is 32.5 meters, the length is 44.5 meters and the height is 27.7 meters. The total usable area is 3,174 square meters consisting of The Palace of Bodhisattva Kwan Yin, one left wing and one right wing. The building is situated on a simulated mountain-base structure where the office of the Foundation is located. (The project architect is Mr. Sontaya Kongchai).

    The construction budget is approximately 50,784,000 THB (Fifty million seven hundred and eighty four thousand baht), equal to 16,000 THB (Sixteen thousand baht) per square meter. This was the estimation in the year 2013. The Foundation still needs a big amount of fund to support the project.

    Therefore, the Foundation needs the patronage from philanthropist’s donation for the construction project. When the palace of Bodhisattva Kwan Yin is finished, The Bodhisattva Kwan Yin Image will be installed for public and philanthropist to worship for their good fortune.


 

The Main Entrance is contemporary Chinese style consisting of 3 doorways; the middle one is 8 meters in width and 6 meters in height for vehicles. The other two smaller doorways on both sides are 2 meters in width for walking.


 

The Public Relation Building is one-storey reinforced concrete building in contemporary Chinese style. The width is 5 meters, the length is 9 meters and the height is 8.7 meters with total usable area of 45 square meters. This building is the office of The Public Relation Section with 2 restrooms.

The Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the Public Relations Building, the first building of this project, was conducted on Monday 13 May 2013; 09.49 a.m. We have been honored by Provincial Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat in presiding over the ceremony. More pictures...


 

The Dharma Practice Center and Auditorium Building is two-storey reinforced concrete building in contemporary Chinese style. The width is     18 meters, the length is 40 meters and the height is 36 meters with total usable area of 1,440 square meters. The ground floor is an auditorium with capacity of 300 seats. The upper floor is Dharma Practice Center for the public.


 

The Guest Building 1 & 2 - The two buildings is three-storey reinforced concrete building in contemporary Chinese style. The dimensions of each building: the width is 14.5 meters, the length is 36 meters and the height is 23.8 meters with the usable area of 1,566 square meters. The first floor is accommodations with restrooms for guests. The second and third floor is dormitories with restrooms at the end corner of each floor.

The Canteen Building is two-storey reinforced concrete building in contemporary Chinese style. The width is 8.5 meters, the length is 36 meters and the height is 15.8 meters with usable area of 612 square meters. The ground floor consists of a kitchen and a canteen with the capacity of 100 seats. The upper floor is a canteen with the capacity of 200 seats.


 

 The Pavilion is one-storey reinforced concrete building in contemporary Chinese style. The width is 5 meters, the length is 35 meters and the height is 6 meters with total usable area of 175 square meters. It is an open space building for important ceremonies and activities of the Foundation.

The Public Hazard Relief Building is two-storey reinforced concrete building in contemporary Chinese style. The width is 12 meters, the length is 40 meters and the height is 12 meters with usable area of 660 square meters. The ground floor consists of offices and rooms for keeping rescue equipments and instruments. The front is the parking lots for rescue vehicles and flatboats. The upper floor is accommodation rooms for staff and a radio communication control for network communication for public charity business of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province and radio broadcasting.


 

The Restroom building for male and female – The two buildings are one-storey reinforced concrete building in contemporary Chinese style. The dimensions of each building: the width is 6 meters, the length is 35 meters and the height is 5 meters with usable area of 210 square meters. Each building consists of 16 restrooms.

The Storage Building is one-storey reinforced concrete building in contemporary Chinese style. The width is 12 meters, the length is 40 meters and the height is 8 meters with total usable area of 480 square meters. It is an open space building with steel shutters on three sides.

The Public Charitable Organization Announcement from Ministry of Finance

 In 2009, Ministry of Finance has announced Moonnithi Pracha Ruanchai as the public charitable organization no. 694 according to the notification of Ministry of Finance concerning “The income and value-added tax (no. 410) dated October 12, 2009 in which the office of the Secretariat of Cabinet has notified the above-mentioned notification in the government gazette for general notification, book 127, special section 1 ngor. Dated January 6, 2010
